What Lights Up Your Life?
The Transfiguration of Jesus is a Christian holy day commemorating when Jesus revealed his divinity to his disciples. The event occurred on a mountain where Jesus prayed with Peter, James, and John.
What happened during the Transfiguration?
Jesus' face and clothes became dazzlingly bright
Moses and Elijah appeared
A voice from heaven confirmed Jesus as the son of God
Meaning of the Transfiguration
The Transfiguration celebrates Jesus' radical change of appearance
It reveals the eternal glory of Jesus, the Second Person of the Trinity
It shows how Jesus fulfills the Law and the Prophets
It demonstrates that Jesus is the perfect, sinless sacrifice
During the Transfiguration, Jesus was highlighted and elevated spiritually. As Christians, we are transformed by following the light that is Jesus. JESUS WAS SINLESS. We are not sinless. Because Jesus was sinless, his skin glowed at the top of the mountain, and his clothes were as bright as the sun. Jesus is God in human form and is always sinless.
The Book of John explains how Jesus has been with us from the beginning. The Holy Trinity—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—is hard to comprehend; our understanding comes from our faith.

Jesus was always with the Father and always with the Trinity. He was never just a "prophet". We talk about transfiguration because it reminds us about where we put our faith.
Because Evil hides in darkness, as Christians, we freely choose to follow the Light of Jesus that exposes and eliminates evil in the world!
His radiance should be the focus of our daily lives.
