“You get what you give?”
“You get what you give?”
In our everyday lives, we are still in God’s Kingdom—the kingdom of God is within all of us! Jesus teaches us to live our lives with kindness and generosity every day. Be kind not only to our friends and family but also to our enemies.
Luke 17:20-21
Jesus tells the Pharisees that the Kingdom of God is not something that can be seen but is already present among people.
Luke 6:38 states, "Give, and it will be given to you.”
In this verse, Jesus describes the rewards for generosity as abundant and overflowing. The phrase "pressed down, shaken together, and running over" suggests that the rewards will be more than one can hold. The verse also implies that the standard of measurement used in giving will be the same standard used in receiving.
This verse reinforces the principle of reciprocity and fairness. It's consistent with the biblical theme of sowing and reaping, which is seen in Galatians 6:7, "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows".
Believers are called to reflect God's unconditional love through acts of generosity, giving freely without expecting anything in return.
In our children’s message, we use Newton’s Cradle to demonstrate the conservation of energy and moment and how our actions affect others. If we are one of the balls who is negative or angry, those emotions will be passed down the chain to others. That is why, as Christians, it is up to us to be the vessels of change. Being happy, kind, and generous will inspire others to be happy, kind, and gracious.
