Wise vs Foolish choices

God is like a parent; He gives us free will to make our own choices. Some of us make good choices, while others may make foolish choices. As in today's children's message, it's wise to use shoelaces for shoes and strong string for bags or hanging up picture frames. It's foolish to use silly string for those applications!

Ephesians 5:15-20 says, "Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand the Lord's will."

The verse also includes other advice, such as:

- Not getting drunk on wine, which can lead to evil

- Being filled with the Spirit and speaking to one another with songs from the Spirit

- Singing and making music from the heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything

- Not talking about silly things, as fools do

- Speaking in a way that shows that you are thanking God

God gives us many gifts throughout our lives; it's our choice whether or not to accept them. It's our choice whether or not we choose to follow God's word!

Remember, as we walk through life, Jesus walks with us! As long as you make your choices with God in mind, remember that you are loved, cherished, and forgiven!
