Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
We need to look in the mirror at ourselves and understand what Christians should look like to others.
As Christians, we should do our best to reflect God's light and act according to his teachings.
There is a gap between wisdom and knowledge. Knowledge is knowing that God exists and what the Bible says; Wisdom is acting and living according to Jesus Christ's teachings!
James 1:22-25
“22 Do not merely listen to the word and deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”
Jesus tells us that we are not saved by our actions alone; we must also have faith and a personal relationship with God!
According to Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus tells us:
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
